Greatest Beans

Long-baked mixed beans with molasses

- 3/4 cup each: pinto beans, pink beans, and lima beans (soaked overnight)

- 2/3 cup molasses

- 5 tablespoons ketchup

- 5 tablespoons brown sugar

- 1 pound ground beef


Steps:

1. Soak pinto, pink, and lima beans overnight.

2. In the morning, rinse and cover with water; cook approximately 2 hours.

3. Drain off cooking liquid.

4. Brown 1 pound ground beef; drain.

5. Combine cooked beans and beef with molasses, garlic salt, ketchup, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, dry mustard, liquid smoke, and mix well.

6. Bake at 325°F for 2 hours in a large covered Pyrex dish.


Notes:

- May let cook 5 hours at 225°F instead (alternative slow-cook option)

- May be easily doubled
