Old-fashioned pecan divinity candy

- 1 cup boiling water

- 7/8 cup white Karo syrup

- 3 1/2 cups white sugar

- 3 egg whites

- 1 cup chopped pecans

- 1 teaspoon vanilla


Steps:

1. Boil water, Karo syrup, and sugar to the hard-ball stage (255–260°F).

2. Pour hot syrup over stiffly beaten egg whites.

3. Add vanilla and continue beating until a teaspoonful holds its shape.

4. Stir in pecans.

5. Drop teaspoonfuls onto wax paper and let set.
